This week Disney announced that it is banning smoking in its parks. That includes Disneyland, Walt Disney World, ESPN Wide World Of Sports Complex, their water parks, and Disney Springs.
This policy takes effect on May 1, 2019. There will be designated smoking areas outside of the park entrances. Smoking areas will also be provided at Disney resort locations. Be sure to ask where those areas are when you check in.
You also will not be able to smoke in any rooms at the resort hotels. If you are caught smoking, there will be a $250-$500 plus tax fine for room to be restored back to it's smoke free state.
Disney states that the ban is to provide a more enjoyable experience for everyone who visits.
I personally am all for it. I am not a smoker, and do not like walking past those areas of the park. And especially find it difficult on the path from Space Mountain to Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom.
Does this personally affect you? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
